Roxbury Latin School, West Roxbury, MA

In essence, The Gordon Wing consists of three large rooms, stacked one above the other: a Lunchroom, an oak-paneled Library, and a Great Hall. The lofty Great Hall, spanned by exposed timber trusses, houses two special book collections, rotating art exhibits, and occasional social functions. With its deliberate combination of Jacobean and Georgian features, the Gordon Wing established the pattern for all our subsequent work on the Roxbury Latin campus. (Basnight, Buckingham & Partners)
